Top Of The Box

This was a big hit in 1970 and was the first time that I became aware of Three Dog Night. The record was out of synch with much that was going on at the time and as a youngster the song epitomised partying and I couldn’t wait to experience it!

The song was originally written by Randy Newman for Eric Burden for his first solo album in 1966. The three Dog Night version is a funky and chaotic arrangement.
