The Smiths - This Charming Man - The Tube - 1982

In the early 1980’s UK tv had three main music programmes - Top Of The Pops, Whistle Test and The Tube.

The Tube went out live on Friday evenings from 5.30 -7.00PM and as well as live performances they also videoed unsigned bands such as The Smiths and Frankie Goes To Hollywood. If my memory serves me well, this video was aired in 1982, the year before The Smiths were signed to Rough Trade and released the song as their second single.
