The Rolling Stones - 2000 Light Years From Home (promo video)
2000 Light Years From Home is one of my favourite Rolling Stones tracks, and is one that is not often played. Taken from The Rolling Stones’ 1967 psychedelic rock album Their Satanic Majesties Request from 1967. The album itself was released at the same time as The Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band; and as Mick Jagger once admitted, [The Beatles] were a good albums band while [The Rolling Stones] made good singles.
How very true, Mick!
According to Wikipedia, Mick Jagger reportedly wrote the lyrics in Brixton prison following his conviction on drug charges in June 1967.
