Gorillaz are playing two sold out shows on Thursday 29th April & Friday 30th April at the thoroughly modern and prestigious Roundhouse theatre in London.
The two shows are bound to be spectacular live events as Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett orchestrate things from behind the scenes.
Fronted by ‘band members’ 2-D (lead vocalist, keyboard), Noodle (lead guitar), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar) and Russel Hobbs (percussion), Gorillaz were formed in 1998 & have just released their third album, Plastic Beach. It follows the debut self-titled Gorillaz (2001) and Demon Days (2005).
The two Gorillaz Roundhouse concerts will feature the full Gorillaz production, including video animation, artwork and film; and possibly some special guests too.
Following collaborations on Demon Days with Hollywood legend Dennis Hopper & Madchester genius Shaun Ryder, Gorillaz have collaborated with the likes Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def and Mark E Smith on Plastic Beach.
Furthermore, Mick Jones & Paul Simenon of The Clash recently played guitar and bass on stage.
