Eddie & The Hot Rods - Get Out Of Denver

John Williams - Wednesday 13.08.08, 07:00am

I had all but forgotten this little gem from Eddie & The Hot Rods from the ‘Live’ At The Marquee EP in 1976.

I certainly didn’t remember the Top Of The Pops appearance, but here it is. I was reminded of this track by a very good friend of mine, in a recent e mail and I’m glad he mentioned it.

This is Eddie & The Hot Rods not really sure if they are Rockabilly, Punk or just plain Rock & Roll, but giving it some none the less, excellent!

I liked a couple of Eddie & The Hotrod songs - Do Anything You Wanna Do and Quit This Town. But this track is just a straightforward rip off of Chuck Berry’s Johnny B Goode.

At one point Eddie almost sings ‘Go, Go Johnny Go’ by mistake!
