Eric Clapton is once again playing live with a little help from his friends.

Eric Clapton has announced five live shows here in the UK: three in May with Steve Winwood and two in February with another rock legend, Jeff Beck.

These days, concert tickets for any UK shows are difficult to purchase, especially with someone who has had worldwide hits over the past five decades. As well as solo, he has had success with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith and Derek & The Dominoes.

Clapton is the only musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame three times: as a member of The Yardbirds, Cream and also as a solo artist; and was ranked fourth in The Rolling Stone magazine’s 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time.

Humble Pie – Natural Born Boogie

Humble Pie were formed by two of the sixties greatest white R&B voices Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton in 1968. Marriott and Frampton were joined by other high profile musicians, bass player Greg Ridley from Spooky Tooth and drummer Jerry Shirley from Apostolic Intervention, to form what is considered to be the first ’supergroup.’

Incredibly, Marriott was just in his twenties when Humble Pie was formed while Frampton was barely eighteen. Shirley was at that time seventeen years old and the old head in the band Ridley in his mid twenties.

Delaney & Bonnie and Friends – Comin’ Home

Delaney & Bonnie Were a husband and wife team that played Rhythm & Blues during the sixties, lauded by their peers of the time, something that was never reflected in record sales.

Eric Clapton met Delaney & Bonnie when they opened for his band Blind Faith. Clapton instantly considered D&B as better than his own band, and when Blind Faith disbanded, Clapton would head out on the road with them.

George Harrison and Dave Mason would also be among the band members for this 1969 tour, that was recorded in the UK on 7 December and released as an album in June 1970, entitled On Tour With Eric Clapton.

One of Delaney & Bonnies best known tracks is the classic Comin’ Home.
