How I would have loved to have seen Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band back in 1978 when this was recorded ‘live’ in his homeland New Jersey. I missed out on seeing Bruce on his UK Hammersmith dates in 1978 and had to wait another six years before he returned to England.
It was worth the wait and I saw him a few times over the next few years before my musical tastes found other avenues to explore, as did Springsteen’s.
He remains one of the best entertainers I have ever seen and this clip catches him at his best, story telling and performing. This track is Thunder Road a track from the 1975 album Born To Run. The clip is in black and white and a timer running on the bottom, but stick with it, it really is excellent.
