Jon Landou’s famous quote when first watching Bruce Springsteen, ‘I have Just Seen The Future Of Rock And Roll’ was a big burden to carry. But Bruce made light of it particularly in his live shows, he was the greatest ‘live’ performer that I have ever seen.
Born To Run was originally released by an angry, hopeful young man, in 1975. This version is around 1985, a very different version of the song. It is a stripped to the bones acoustic version, with a now mature Springsteen, reflecting on those dreams that the song was about.

Thanks for thinking of me John.
It’s taken me a couple of viewings to get into this version (I kept wanting to be able to ’sing along’ with it) but now I love it.
Makes we want to see a live version of Bruce doing “State Trooper” from “Nebraksa”.
