Altered Images – Dead Pop Stars, 1980

Altered Images had to wait until 1981 for their first big commercial hit, Happy Birthday.  Though Dead Pop Stars was I think their best single, but it hardly made a dent on the Top 40 on its release.  This was due in part to the single being released at the time of the shooting of John Lennon, and received hardly any radio play.

In 1980 I had a big crush on Claire Grogan.  I saw her on television recently, and still do.
